Comité-conseil sur l'évaluation des ressources didactiques

The mandate of the Comité-conseil sur l’évaluation des ressources didactiques (CCERD) is to advise the Minister on all matters relating to textbooks, instructional materials and categories of instructional materials.

The CCERD is made up of 13 members, including a chair, who are appointed by the Minister of Education.

Composition of CCERD :

  • Six members exercising an educational function who were chosen from school service centers, school boards and private educational institutions, both French and English
  • Two school principals (elementary and secondary school)
  • Two parents of students (elementary and secondary school)
  • A representative from a book publishers’ association
  • A representative of the school boards
  • A university-level educational expert

The first mandate of the committee is to advise the Minister on any matter relating to textbooks, instructional material or classes of instructional material.

The committee, in the pursuit of its mandate, shall make recommendations to the Minister concerning :

  • Criteria for the approval of instructional resources
  • Approval of instructional resources

The second mandate of the committee is to advise the Minister on any matter relating to the evaluation, approval, implementation and review of instructional materials.

The committee, in the pursuit of its mandate, may :

  • Refer any matter relating to instructional resources to the Minister
  • Solicit and receive observations and suggestions from individuals or groups on any matter relating to instructional resources
