Tasks

• Feed the horses (read the diet, measure the forage and grains, and distribute the feed).
• Make sure water is available (fill the water bowls or check the filling system).
• Handle the horses on the ground (put the halter on; have the horse move forward, backward, turn, and stand immobile).
• Groom the horses (currying, brushing, untangling hair, maintaining the feet and clipping).
• Identify signs of health problems and notify the person in charge.
• Wash the horses or help bathe them.
• With supervision, provide horses with certain care such as hydrotherapy.
